The Great Philadelphia Comic Con 2017

It’s really difficult to give a top five or any kind of review, for a convention that you actually put work into. At the Great Philadelphia Comic Con, I was not just Press, I was also part of the staff, as this Con was officially hosted by the Points of Interest Podcast Network, in which I am a proud member of. As a result, I helped set up, I helped moderate panels, and I helped guests find their way around the Convention and answered all of their questions. That means,…

Do You Ever Wondercon 2017?

I’ve been covering Wondercon for the past five years, and I never seem to get bored talking about it. Each year its something new and something different. So before I get to my five favorite things about Wondercon 2017, let me wax poetic about the Wondercon of yesteryear. In 2016, Wondercon relocated to the grand city of Los Angeles, at the LA Convention Center. It was an attempt to accommodate it’s ever growing attendance, and Anaheim was getting a face lift. It only lasted the single year, but if Los…

Long Beach Comic Con 2016

This has been the third year I’ve covered Long Beach Comic Con, and it just keeps getting better each time. Much like it’s sister convention, the Long Beach Comic Expo, this event celebrates the comic book artists and writers and shows a lot of love for the cosplayers. A Comic Book Convention of Yesteryear, LBCC sticks to the comic con roots and shows it through the panels and it’s show floor. I have to give a brief disclaimer before I continue. I was only able to attend 75% of the…

San Diego Comic Con 2016

Through a series of fortunate events, I found myself at the San Diego Comic Con, and I learned very quickly, that the hype was real. Considered to be one of the largest, if not THE largest convention in the world, SDCC 2016, despite not having any huge reveals, was still the largest, most exciting convention I have ever been to. And, there is no doubt in my mind, that if you have the opportunity to go, I would tell you to GO, with the fury of a hundred suns, GO!…

Emerald City Comic Con 2016

In the heart of the Subway and coffee capital of the world, sits the Washington State Convention Center; and in that convention center, is the Emerald City Comic Con. A four day pop culture and comic book convention housed in five floors and three, separate buildings in the middle of the Seattle metropolis. This is where our adventure begins. Teamed up with Points of Interest’s fearless leader, Josh Hawkes, we set out to conquer the Emerald City Comic Con and our trepidation. Something to know about this convention is that…

Wondercon 2016

I look forward to Wondercon every year, and each year it gets bigger and better. There were a ton of big announcements this year, from DC Rebirth to Voltron, and some treats for the fans with exclusive footage from Agents of SHIELD, iZombie, and more. I, of course, arrive on day two of the convention, and in it’s new venue, and I have to confess, it’s a little overwhelming. Taking up the Los Angeles Convention Center, Wondercon extends out a little into LA Live and the Microsoft Theater. It’s no…

A Look at the LA Comic Book & Sci-Fi Convention

Everyone has heard about the San Diego Comic Con or the New York Comic Con, because they’re huge pop culture conventions with celebrities, and sneak peaks, and everything a geek/nerd/regular person could ask for. Those are amazing and worth going to, but sometimes you can’t beat the “intimacy” of the small convention. In Downtown Los Angeles, at a location called “The Reef”, a giant wooden chair greets you for a one day, seven hour event, called the Los Angeles Comic Book and Science Fiction Convention. For a mere $12, or…

Long Beach Comic Expo 2016

Comic books, movies, television and pop culture are the usual flair of the pop culture convention. But at the Long Beach Comic Expo 2016 you get a bonus, which are SCIENCE and SPACE! At the 2016 Long Beach Comic Expo (LBCE), there were artists and cosplay on display, with areas dedicated to the Power Rangers and cosplay organizations. Now, for the veteran convention goers, that’s business as usual, well, maybe not the Power Rangers part, but the thing that really impressed me was the play area for small children. Super…

The LA Comic & Science Fiction Convention

Conventions are on fleek nowadays, which may mean that they’re on Kim Kardashian’s butt or something, I forget, but they are the thing for the mainstream public to do if they want to keep on top of pop culture. They’ve been “must do” events for the last five years, and they continue to grow in popularity. The San Diego Comic Con alone is a spectacle of people, news, reveals, and geekdom that can barely be contained in the cities Gaslamp district. It is then, no surprise, that the…

Denver Comic Con 2015

The Geeks went on an adventure this weekend at Denver Comic Con.  This is the forth year of Denver’s Comic Con, and it’s come a long way since it’s inaugural year.  Tens of thousands of fans flocked in this year to see what DCC had to offer, and weren’t disappointed with what they were met with. Here are some shots we managed to snag while we were running around in the chaos!
