Supergirl 2.04 “Survivors” Top 5

The ‘stronger together’ message that keeps Supergirl refreshing came back to the forefront in tonight’s episode, ‘Survivors’. When Alex and Maggie find an alien fight club, run by the nefarious Roulette, things get a little bit punchy. Supergirl does what she can to break things up early on, but things never go quite the way the Kryptonian plans, at least not on the first run. After all, where’s the story in that? In addition to her struggles with Roulette, Kara also has her job at CatCo to think of as…

Supergirl 2.01 “The Adventures of Supergirl” Top 5

When the world is kind of falling apart, hope is what bonds us together. Through the fear, anger, and despair that can come with day to day life, hope keeps us alive. Hope that things will get better, hope that you can make a difference, hope that you can make it through whatever it is that may be getting you down that the time. No matter what you hope for, having that hope inspires and drives. It’s that hope that makes the ‘S’ that Supergirl (and her cousin) wears so…

Supernatural 11.07 “Plush” Review

“Plush” was pure fluff this week, in the most terrifying way possible. This filler episode was a walk through the greatest hits of my childhood nightmares. Giant bunnies, faceless jesters, and killer clowns all came together to give Supernatural fans a throwback to the narrative style of the first two seasons, with a little bit of Sheriff Donna, just for good measure. While it’s true that this episode was filler, it was a needed break from the quick moving pace that we’ve come to expect from season 11. This episode…

Hello, fellow riders of the lightning! It’s here – the episode I’ve been most excited for all off-season – “Flash of Two Worlds” (S0202)! Let’s dive right in, shall we? At the tail end of last episode (“The Man Who Saved Central City”), as Barry (Grant Gustin) and the S.T.A.R. Labs gang celebrated the defeat of the Atom Smasher, a stranger walked right into the control center, past all of Cisco’s (Carlos Valdes) upgraded security, and introduced himself as Jay Garrick (Teddy Sears). Now, longtime Flash fans already knew what…

The Flash S02E01 Review – “The Man Who Saved Central City”

Hey there, Flash fans! Have you all been eagerly anticipating this new season as much as I have? Before we launch into this new season’s premiere, “The Man Who Saved Central City,” let’s take a quick look at where we ended last season, in “Fast Enough” (S01E01): Having finally captured Eobard Thawne (the Reverse Flash), who had been masquerading as Dr. Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh), Barry (Grant Gustin) and the team are presented with a tantalizing choice. Thawne/Wells gives Barry a way to go back in time and save his…
